From marketing strategy to fiction: My next chapter (And yours?)

Remember that childhood question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?”
I spent most of my life answering the wrong one: “What do I need to do to make $$$ when I grow up?” CPA, project manager, purchasing manager, corporate marketer, B2B marketer… the list goes on.
But something was always missing.
This year, I finally faced that long-avoided question head-on: What do I REALLY want to do when I grow up?
The answer: **I want to be a published novelist.**
There, I said it.
Putting my dream out there for all of you to see is terrifying! What if I can’t live up to my own expectations? What if I fall flat on my face in front of all of you?
Then it hit me: Telling the world is the BEST way to hold myself accountable. If I crash and burn, so be it, then. No more excuses.
So, here’s a glimpse at my slightly ambitious, potentially crazy writing roadmap:
Project Writing 1-2-3
1 eBook
2 Business Books
3 Novels
eBook: I just finished a brand-new eBook on a topic near and dear to my hearts: generating sales, FAST, by working closely with your sales team.
It’s a 90-day action plan to identify sales needs, build a strategy, and get results. Consider it a quick win for your marketing arsenal.
Download here—go forth and conquer! If I can assist you, please don’t hesitate to contact me!
Business Books: Because my marketing brain never sleeps, I’m working on two books for my fellow B2B marketing peeps:
- Rewriting the Modern AI Marketer: Taking my original AI eBook to the next level, this one tackles the REAL challenge with AI — scaling it across your entire organization. We’re talking strategic frameworks, actionable roadmaps, and all the insights I’ve gathered to help you build a true AI-powered marketing machine.
- B2B Marketing Fundamentals: Digital trends come and go, but some marketing principles are timeless. This book is my love letter to the essential skills every modern B2B marketer needs, no matter what the future holds.
In the meantime, subscribe to my YouTube channel for a sneak peek at what’s brewing in these two books.
Fictional Novels (Yes, really!): This is where things get interesting.
First up, a heartwarming chick-lit novel called, Luna by Design. Luna by Design. It follows an Asian American accountant torn between her practical side and her lifelong dream of becoming an interior designer.
Did I mention she’s also trying to save her husband’s family deli? Which should come first? Her dream? Her marriage? Her family obligations?
Ideas for books 2 & 3 are already in the hopper.
Writing a novel is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. Many moments of “WTF am I doing this?” #crying #cryingmore But I’ve learned so much about writing, and most importantly, I learned so much about myself.
Even though fictional writing a work in progress, I launched pamdidnerauthor.com. (Because of accountability, remember?)
You can check out more about “Luna by Design” and even find me trying to be cool on TikTok (it’s also a work in progress ).
That dream you’ve been putting off? That creative spark you’ve been ignoring? What is it? When your heart tells you to start, don’t hold back.
It takes a little courage (or a lot, in my case!).
Cheers to chasing dreams,
Pam
